About

Hi, I’m Rachael, and I was diagnosed with autism at 34.

Hands holding onion

That diagnosis flipped my world on its head in the best kind of way. It helped so many pieces of my life fall into place and allowed me to finally understand myself on a deeper level.

My autism had been hidden in plain sight, invisible to others and even to me.

More recently, I’ve begun exploring the possibility that I might also have ADHD. Although I don’t have a formal diagnosis yet, I’m learning and discovering more about myself as I go.

In many ways, I feel like I’ve been slowly peeling back my layers for years, long before I had the language or understanding for what I was experiencing.

Living a fulfilling, authentic life has always been a priority for me, and now, I’m making space (both physically and mentally) to explore it fully.

Starting this blog was a big step. I’ve never been someone who loves being seen, I tend to prefer the background. But something in me felt called to share this journey.

If my words can make even one person feel a little less alone, then it’s worth it.

I also live with fibromyalgia and ME/CFS, and I’ll be sharing bits about those too, especially where they overlap with autism.

I’m based in Wiltshire, UK, where I live with my super supportive husband and two very entertaining cats.

You can follow along here on the blog or subscribe to join The Inner Onion Circle, a cosy little corner where we peel back life’s layers together.

You’ll get new posts (in both written and audio format), behind-the-scenes updates, and heartfelt reflections straight to your inbox.

I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to reach out any time.

I’m pouring love into this blog to help others feel seen. If you’d like to support my work, you can do so here.

Thanks for being here.

Much love,
Rachael xx
